Sometimes....

29th February 2008 (Fri)

Sometimes...u make fun of people..or rather..stop controling yourself and show your true colours..

Sometimes...that puts people off...

Then you start wondering..whether..it's that person being sensitive..or is it you...

The Day that doesn't come by that often...

29th February 2008 (Fri)

We tend to forget that not everyone celebrates their birthday annually on their real birth dates. Well, of course there are those unfortunately ones who have their b'days smack right in the middle of exam period...and there are those living in poverty who might not even think of celebrating their special days.

But how bout those who actually can't?....even if they want to

Yes, I'm talking about the 29th February babies!

And my cousin, Ken Jin is one of them.. That's why he's only flying back to Melbourne today..in about an hour time =p Well, of course the fact that Melbourne Uni kick-starts its semester on 3rd March helps... You're one lucky dragon Mr. Tan =p

We didn't grow up together.. I visit him annually (which is something I always look forward to..especially when I'm young) but surprisingly, we're still close... perhaps it's because we're only a year apart..

You know how you tend to mix with cousins usually of the same age during family vacations (of course cousins whom you must click with) whether in Genting, Penang, or shopping malls.. my parents will usually say, "Nah Ah Yau..you, Ah Jin, and Ah Yang (Jin's small bro) go see what you wanna see..we'll call you when we're done.." Then you parents do their thing while you and your cousins do yours..

Thank God we have the same interest too =) badminton, pokemon... guess what his old email address is =p *hint hint*

Oh, believe it or not we use to send letters to each other too...erm..like pen-pal that kind! Haha..even sent some stickers along with our letters sometimes =p

Yes, yes, we compare exam results too especially during primary school..."Eh, you get no what this time ah?" But it's not that important anymore now...at least to me =)

Last year, we hoped to enrol into the same uni last year... but sometimes luck's just not on our side... I've gotta look at the bright side and go, "perhaps it's not such a bad thing"

Ya..he beats me in swimming...and badminton too..
Haha..he's most probably gonna go, "Why, Ah Yau, why...out of all the pictures.."

Readers, sorry to bore you all with all the details..but it's just so fun thinking about those little things you do in the past =D

Finally, here's to my closest cousin! You've been a great company all these while..Let's graduate successfully in 2009! Happy five-year-old!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam Seng!

Back Down Under

20th Feb 2008 (Wed)

I'm back in Canberra after a quite-a-long-break. Learnt lots during the previous 3 months.

No matter how much I've learnt, the fear of year 2008 is still there...so much to face...

But the good thing's that I'm turning 21 in 2008 =p Let's see what luck is it gonna bring..

Ice Water During Meal? Hold That Thought!

For those who like to drink cold water, or any other cold drinks, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink during or after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine.Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks - You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line. You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive.

Hong Kong The Safest

10th Feb 2007 (Sun)

It's difficult for me to digest the fact that Hong Kong is currently one of the safest cities in the world, especially after watching all the gangster-related Hong Kong movies (Infernal Affairs, SPL, Flash Point, etc) and TVB series. However, according to Health Today (February 2008), although there has been a mushrooming in population and economic growth in the last 10 years, the statisitcs for robberies and violent crime have remained relatively steady in Hong Kong. Its status as a safe city is largely due to its distinctive living conditions, dedicated and highly trained police force, and community building policies. Hm..sounds impressive =p

Btw, my hometown friend, Mr. Seng hit the age of 21 at the midst of CNY celebration. Haha..sayang not many of my blog readers know him....think only Sze Huey, Sher Reen, and Calvin =p

Fuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh =D

Can Finally Breathe...A Bit

Hi all,

So touched! Still have people reading! Thanks, all!

FIY, I couldn't even assess my blog from China. Don't know the reason. It explains why I post anything in the chat box.

Anyway, I'm finally back in Taiping from S'pore and Shenzhen, all geared up for CNY after missing it last year.

For those keeping in touch, thanks again! Appreciate it!

Ending note: Went to the eye specialist today. Saw an interesting fact about cataract: It is believed that if everyone lives long enough, they will all have cataract!
