First day in Uni

Finally went to ANU for the first time and meet so many AUSMATians:
Sze Huey, Safuraa, Zaza, Sherry, Ali Imran, Idzham, Faiz, Maha.
I went to the International Education Office (ieo) to ask what do I need to settle as a new student and I’ve been advised to enroll today to avoid the jam this Friday.
Later, I opened a bank account in Commonwealth Bank where I met Farris, Arif, and Zhahir (I pray that I remember his name correctly). I can only remember Farris as he’s the superman of the well-known Lynda. Well, at least he wasn’t shy to admit when Sze Huey said, “He’s someone’s boyfriend..Lynda, right?” Haha..He does look horizontally bigger compared to the pictures I’ve seen in Yee Hong’s blog and also the last time I saw him in Cultural Night.
Next, we proceed to a big super market later, Big W(1/9th of Midvalley) to get my fan and I met Hardeep, Nadia, and Zafirah. Haven’t meet Sher Reen, Farah, Nadrah and some other Petronas scholars as they only arrived today and were probably still settling down.
Unfortunately, we ended up being lost as we walked to the exact opposite direction from ANU. We were still hoping that we were at the right way until we saw the highway. It was then we were sure that we were wrong. The fact that we were carrying at least a fan each and the dinner time was 5.30pm (dinner time-5.30-6.30pm) made matters worse. The hot weather didn’t help either. We were starving as we skipped lunch (we were busy settling the enrolment and the new bank account). Thankfully, we managed to find our way back and made it for dinner at about 6.10pm, thanks to Shern Ren (a jpa scholar from
Alright, finally you’ve reached the end. Thank you for staying with me. Sorry for the few detailed posts. Didn’t mean to make you all feel bored as you might not wanna know so detailed about my life here but it’s a way of communicating with my family especially my mum, to let them know how I am getting on here. Tried calling them using the phone card I bought this morning but failed so many times. Will try again tomorrow.
Alright, gtg, orientation starts tomorrow. Don’t wanna miss it!

Glad to hear from you. Mum was worried! She sms-ed this morning and I sms-ed in the evening. Both of us were worried. And I tried to think positive - thinking that you might change to the Aust SIM card and having trouble to contact us, trying to calm Mum and also myself, which the end turned out to be true ;)
Thank God everything is ok. Phew.. What a relief. Take care and have fun during Orientation.
