Keeping It Simple

I made a complete fool of myself..

Tutor: Does anyone know what time it is?

I glanced at my watch and took a few seconds to deduct 15 minutes. Strangely enough, no one has yet to answer. The time was 11.25am btw.

You know how people say "5 to" when it's 11.55.. So this time I answered this way.

Me: It's five minutes to eleven thirty...

Then I realised it would've been much shorter if i just mentioned 11.25am.. So I mumbled softly,

"Or should I just say..eleven twenty five....ok I sound so stupid"

But everyone heard me and started laughing including the tutor =s
